Choosing an essence is as individual as you are. Many people enjoy reading the definitions and choose one or several which most closely address issues you’d like to resolve or positive qualities you would like to bring into your life. Alternatively, you may wish to use an intuitive method. These include dowsing, muscle testing or having a sense that this is the right one for you (being drawn to that essence). If you feel you are not able to choose and essence yourself, consulting a flower essence practitioner may be helpful. Check your local health food store for practitioners, or you can contact me for long distant consultations.

There are many ways to take vibrational essences. Essences sold at a dosage level are ready to take. Essences sold at a stock level can be taken as is or the more economical way is to dilute them to dosage level. To do this take a clean or sterilized 25 ml. bottle and add brandy so it is about 1/4 full. Add 4 drops of the stock essence, then fill with non-chlorinated water.

Essence may be taken as needed under the tongue, or use a pendulum or muscle test to determine the number of drops and when to take them. Hold in your mouth for a few seconds, welcome the essences into your body and think about the message the essences have for you. You can put 4 to 7 drops in your water bottle and sip on the energy throughout the day. They are most effective when taken in small amounts several times for a given period of time.

You can also: Draw a bath, then put 7 drops in the water. Light a candle and soak in the benefits from the essence while cleansing your energy fields.

Place 4 drops in a spray bottle and spray your home, working area, car or yourself.

Put 4 drops into a small amount of massage oil (it doesn’t mix with the oil, so don’t add it to the whole bottle) and massage the whole body or an area giving you discomfort.

Visualization or saying a positive affirmation asserts your intention. Keep the statement positive and in the present. Journalling can help you see changes and shifts that you may otherwise not be aware of. Some people have dramatic effects from essences, while for others the shift is more subtle. You may experience a change in attitude or awareness, an increase in confidence, harmony or clarity. Some have changes in their physical symptoms as well.
